Congratulations to Natalie Toomey, Ponder's 2019-20 Teacher of the Year! She is certainly deserving of such an honor!

Currently, Mrs. Toomey serves as a fourth-grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher, as well as the campus Gifted and Talented Coordinator. 

She has taught at Ponder for 12 of her 15 years in Education. 


  • Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition, Texas Woman's University
  • Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood - 4th), Tarleton State University
  • ESL Certified
  • Completed Master's level courses in Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University

Mrs. Toomey's Views on Teaching:

Teaching is my passion, and I have dedicated myself to seeking innovative ways to make learning fun and enjoyable. I believe student success is created by balancing meaningful relationships, compassion, and maintaining high expectations for myself and my students.
